The placement: a product feature for Momcozy in WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), the fashion and retail industry’s paper of record – a publication with an Authority Score of 69 and roughly 2.1 million monthly visits. This case study is deliberately included to make a point our competitors’ pages never make: not every valuable placement is a dofollow link, and pretending otherwise is how brands overpay for the wrong thing.

The client
Momcozy is a maternal wellness brand whose products – including the ErgoWrap back support belt featured here – sell on comfort, design and credibility with mothers. For a consumer brand at Momcozy’s stage, coverage in the fashion-retail industry’s own publication speaks to a different audience than a parenting blog does: retail buyers, partners and the industry itself, alongside the brand-conscious consumers who treat WWD as a taste authority.
What we did
The placement was delivered through our media network via Fairchild Studio, WWD’s branded-content programme – the ErgoWrap positioned as a product feature story, not a paid review. We then did the part that turns a placement into an asset: we measured it. Our October 2026 backlink check of the coverage found WWD carrying 18 links to Momcozy across two articles, and established the fact this page is built around – every one of them nofollow.
The result – and the honest lesson
As a ranking asset, this placement is worth little directly: nofollow links pass no ranking credit, and any agency that sold WWD coverage to a client as an SEO link without saying so was not being straight. As a brand asset, it is worth a great deal – WWD coverage is citable in every pitch, deck and product page Momcozy produces (“as featured in WWD” is a line money can rarely buy legitimately), it drives referral shoppers, and it places the brand in front of the retail industry.
We publish this case study because the distinction is the service. A provider who shows you only dofollow wins is hiding half the picture. Linkuild reports every placement with its real attributes – dofollow where that is what was bought, nofollow stated plainly where that is what the publication gives – so clients can weigh brand value and ranking value with open eyes.
